that y has no solution unless u mean(y+4)/4 = (y+3)/3
in which case u hav to cross multiply and get
4y + 8 = 3y + 12
meaning y = 4

thanks zak and the jobless guy got the answer right cuz i think this is the equation 3(y+4)=4(y+2)=3y+12=4y+8 meaning y=4

There isn't an answer it's more like a statement unless the = sign is + or - it's like saying y3+ 4 = y5+2
