I have had this on 2 boxes. The following works on one but not on the other. You can try some of these and see if that works for you.
1. Try to press F7 as instructed. This will by-pass the ACPI installation on windows.
2. Disable APM from the BIOS.
3. If you have moved the box lately, re-sit all RAMs and make sure you have correctly configured your IDE devices. Make sure you have master device and secondary device correctly. Make sure you do not have a secondary device without a master device.
4. If you happened to try overclock, disable any of the overclock settings.
Reason:
ACPI is the Advanced Configuration and Power Interface from Microsoft. One of the functions it to allow you to turn off your computer without using the power button. It can also allow you to turn on the machine using just the keyboard (if you have the power button on your keyboard).
