(a) Resolve forces vertically,T1.sin(60) + T2.sin(30) = 500 --------------- (1)
Resolve forces horizontally,
T1.cos(60) = T2.cos(30) -------------- (2)
Solve the two equation for the two unknowns T1 and T2
At equilibrium, T3 = 500 N
--------------------------------
(2) No.
If the iron chain is horizontal, there will not be any vertical force component to balance the weight of the load.
