x + x/7 = 19
7(x + x/7) = 7(19)
7x + x = 133
8x = 133
x = 133/8

another but may be dfficult way to solve it

(1)x+(1/7)x=19

(8/7)x=19

x=21.7

first you get rid of all the fractions. to do this, multiply the whole thing by 7.... so you get 7x+x=133.
then you combine like terms, so you get 8x=133.
then divide both sides by eight end you get x=133/8.

Multiplying & dividing first term by 7:
7x/7 + x/7 = 19
Taking common denominator:
(7x + x)/7 = 19
Multiplying both sides of equation by 7:
8x = 19 *7 (Since 7x + x = 8x)
x = 19 * 7/8
= 16.625
