Changing kinetic energy into electrical energy involves the usage of a generator. The movement of the generator (kinetic) generates electrical energy. Generators are most commonly powered by the burning of coal. Coal burning generate a lot of Carbon Dioxide (CO2) and they're released into the air. And CO2 is a known greenhouse gas that causes global warming. Other methods of powering a generator includes the burning of fuel, as we do in cars. The burning of fuel to generate electrical power in the car also releases CO2 and other pollutants into the air.
The generation of electrical energy from light energy, on the other hand, involves the usage of solar technology. That is, light from the sun is converted into electrical energy using solar panels. This method of electrical energy creation is relatively much cleaner than that of converting kinetic energy into electrical energy as no pollutants are released into the environment using this process.
