If 4x^2+3x-3=0
then x=[-3 + & - (9+48)^1/2] /8=
=0.56873 & -1.31873

f(x) = 4x^2 + 3x - 3
f(-4) = 4(-4)^2 + 3(-4) - 3
f(-4) = 4(16) + (-12) - 3
f(-4) = 64 - 12 - 3
f(-4) = 49
