This is a difficult maths question
14=3x+x^3

You have to use Factor Theorem to solve the cubic equation...
14 = 3x + x^3
x^3 + 3x - 14 = 0
Let f(x) = x^3 + 3x - 14
f(1) = (1)^3 + 3(1) - 14 = -10
Therefore, x=1 has reminder, and (x-1) is not a factor of f(x)
f(2) = (2)^3 + 3(2) - 14 = 0
Therefore, x=2 has no reminder, and (x-2) is a factor.
Then, divide f(x) by (x-2).... for the rest of the working and answer... please refer to the below link...
