在英文上，如何更有禮貌的請求別人呢？

視乎 你 or 對方 想講麥......同埋語氣 ~

如果你想問人嘅時候比較有禮貌.....你可以用 "Please", "Would you mind", "May I ask", "Could you please"...等等....

"Would you mind" 係一個比較有禮貌嘅方法去問人.....依句同 "Could you please"相同..........但係.......有時候......如果個 connotation 係比較強嘅話, 個請求可能會變成泄氣嘅說話....

例如:
你去到某公司.........當你去到一個櫃臺嘅時候.......佢叫你去另外一個櫃臺.........但係你去到第二個櫃臺嘅時候.....佢又叫你返去第一個櫃臺........重複又重複....到最後....你就同其中一個櫃臺講--->

" Would you mind passing me with your supervisor/ the manager?" <---句子上好似好有禮貌...實質就係泄氣嘅說話.....因為你要見佢地個 Boss

無論如何....用 "Would you mind" 係最有禮貌.....
例如:
"Would you mind passing me the sugar?"
同
"Please pass me the sugar."

<---兩句都好有禮貌.........但係第一句比第二句更有禮貌.....如果同唔熟嘅人一齊食飯...用第一句係最好.........
同朋友.....就咁用第二句就得啦 ~

講返你比嘅例子:
1) "What is that meaning?"

通常用 "What" 都係唔好, 唔係太禮貌..........
我建議你用 " What does that means?" ....依句比 "What is that meaning?" 好少少....

如果想用較有禮貌嘅講法, 你可以用以下句子 ---->
"What is it pertaining to?"
OR
"Could you please elaborate?"
OR
" May I ask, what does that means?"
OR
" May I ask, what _____ means?"
OR
" Would you mind telling me the meaning of that?"
OR
" Would you mind telling me the meaning of ____?"
OR
" Could you please telling me the meaning of that?" [你可以將 "please" 放起最後] ---> "Could you ......please?"
OR
" Could you please telling me the meaning of ____?"[你可以將 "please" 放起最後] ---> "Could you ......please?"

2) "Could you tell the answer please?"

其實你依一句已經好有禮貌......

如果想用其他較有禮貌嘅講法, 你可以用以下句子 ---->
" May I ask, what is the answer?"
OR
" Would you mind telling me the answer of that question?"
OR
" Would you mind telling me the answer?"
OR
" Could you please telling me the answer of that question?" [你可以將 "please" 放起最後] ---> "Could you ......please?"
OR
" Could you please telling me the answer?"[你可以將 "please" 放起最後] ---> "Could you ......please?"

你比我嘅例子 ----->"Could you tell the answer please? 唔係一個好嘅句子....應該用 "say" or "tell me".....
"Could you say the answer please?"

" Could you tell me the answer please?"

hi, in the English question, u can use ... "May I ....?", e.g. May I know its meaning? it is the most polite.
in the English sentence, u can use ... "Please" "Would you please", e.g. Please pass the coke to me; e.g. would you please take the coke to me?

其實Could you tell the answer please?已經算好有禮貌.....如果可以加埋表情同動作會更加好~
