Hi,

When multiplying terms with the same base, keep the base and add the exponents. Then if there are any negative exponents, those variables move to the denominator with a positive exponent.

b^6 * b^-7 =
Add the exponents.

b^6 * b^-7 = b^-1
Since there is a negative exponent, move the b to the denominator and make the exponent positive.

b^-1 = 1/b <==ANSWER

I hope that helps!! :-)

b^6 * b^-7
= b^(6 - 7)
= b^-1
= 1/b

b^6 x b^-7
....b^6
=--------- = b^-1=1/b answer//
....b^7

b^(-1) = 1 / b

b^6*b^-7
the base variable is same.so we add the powers
b^(6+(7))
b^(6-7)
b^(-1)
1/b
