(1) A fish is in the pond. If a man view the fish above the pond,
i. where would be the image ? Why?
a. Just vertically above the object.(正上)
b. above the object but slightly nearer to the man.(斜上)
ii. what is the image size compared to the object. Why?
a. same size
b. bigger
c. smaller
(2) A glass block is placed 1 cm above a picture. If a man view the picture through the glass block,
i. where would be the image ? Why?

b. above the object but slightly nearer to the man.(斜上)
ii. what is the image size compared to the object. Why?
a. same size
b. bigger
c. smaller
Can they be explained by 1/f=1/u+1/v?

1. (i)(a), (ii)(a)
2. (i)(a), (ii)(a)
This can be explained by the relation:
real depth/apparent depth = refractive index of medium (water or glass)
hence, apparent depth = real depth/refractive index
but refractive index > 1, the apparent depth is thus less than the real depth.
