unemployment question?

hi,
can I apply for unemployment and then leave country ( I live in Canada )to find work elsewhere or for any other reason ?
should I report my absence and if yes, then what happens if I report that ? will I still receive my UNemployment salary or not ?
and how many months I'm entitled for Unemployment ?
