點解有D外國人英文名有三、四個字，有d就得兩個呢？

在美國的命名法則上,第一個是Given Name,是受洗時命名，由牧師或父母親戚起名。
最尾必定是姓。
但中間是甚麼來的?原來,中間叫作middle name，是受洗之後才取，好多時會略去，取名依據各家規矩。
出現這原因是因為:


1.一般美國人通常都對自己的家族而自豪,所以習慣用已知祖先加在自己名內;


2.家族內可能有不少祖先或親人都可用同一個名,要加middle name來互相分辨。

when you saw a person that had three words in their name, it is usually because they have a middle name.
however, for some people even they had a middle name, if they dont like it sometimes they wont tell you about that because middle name is not such a big deal to tell people..
