中國現在買了很多美國國債, 將來美國可否和有沒有能力不認數?, 如果不認數的話, 會有什麼後果?

But what is the consequence if US do not want to pay bonds back to China? I understand they can print a wad of money to pay, it is based on green-back policy not the gold. I wonder if US won't pay their debt, war be happened?

It is not possible for a country to default on bonds which is in this country's currency. The logic is very simple: if US owns 100 Trillion of bonds, US can print 100 Trillion of US dollars to pay it back.

However, this will lend to a huge devaluation of the currency and thus may result in a worthless currency, effectively brings the price of any existing bonds to $0.

From history, the US dollar devalues once a while (may be to a specific currency or to a basket of currencies). This causes any creditors to lose value (in turns of purchasing power).
