First divide 50 by 100 to get %1.

Because 50 is %100 to get %1 you have to divide by 100.

Then multiply by 20 to get %20!

So...

50/100 = 0.5

0.5 x 20 = 10

So %20 of 50 is 10

now just subtract 10 from 50 to get the answer

50 - 10 = 40

20 from 100
? from 50

to answer this you must first multiply 20 by 50 then divide the answer by 100
(20*50)/100
1000 / 100 = 10

to know what is left subtract 10 from 50 = 50 - 10 = 40

Get 20% of 50, then subtract it from 50. Or just get 80% of 50.
2009-02-22 10:59 am
20/100 * 50
= 10

50-10 = 40 *-*
2009-02-22 10:17 am
50 x (1 - 20%)
= 50 x 80%
= 50 x 80/100
= 50 x 4/5
= 200/5
= 40

20% means 20/100
therefore
20% off 50 would be......
(20/100)*50=10
now if we take 20% off 50 or in other words subtract 10 from 50 we have........
50-10=40
2009-02-22 9:59 am
50 = 100%
divide both sides by 20
1 = 2%
multiply both sides by 10
10 = 20%

Take 10 from the 50 you had initially
50 - 10 = 40

Hope that helps :)

40 left. 20% of 50 is 10, so take 10 from 50, answer is 40

50 - 20 X /100 X 50 = 40
