Should I get Windows Vista 32 bit or 64 bit?

Then what video card should I get? Should I upgrade to 1GB instead of 512MB?

更新3:

How about Vista Home Premium?

Great CPU (Q8300 is awesome)
Great Motherboard - cheapest SLI x16/x16 chipset that performs well.
Great amount of memory - you need Vista 64 -bit to use all 8GB otherwise 32-bit will just address 3.5GB - Home Premium will do fine

Has a crappy $30 Video Card - Use this guide and select your price

The price is terrible. That system should only cost about $850 if you build yourself.

Get an i7 with a 9800 GT instead, then upgrade the GPU and RAM with the extra cash. 9800 GT will do fine, but get a 9800GTX+ for $150 is you find games are slow - or use the guide because the i7 motherboards all support triple SLI all in x16 mode

That computer comes with 64-bit Vista Home basic - it will do fine. You can always upgrade to Windows 7 when it comes out next year - which you should do. It also includes a generic logitech mouse and keyboard which is the best deal I've seen for a $1000 computer.

Also the i7 920 overclock better than the i7 965 extreme and costs a quarter the price.

You should get 64 bit vista.

Get 64Bit windows, without it 8GB of RAM is usless as 32 can only address 3.8GB
Get a 1GB card, it makes a huge difference(I sugest buying the ATI 4870 personnaly, it has faster memory clock speeds)
get vista home priemuim, it has more feature and i'm not sure if basic will support DX10.
And now my personal opinion, get rid of the lights, you dont spend your time looking at the case, you look at the screen its pointless. do you intend on geting 2 video cards? if not you might as well get a cheaper PSU and motherboard, you have no need for them. CPU fans, dont know how much that ne costs but it sounds expensive, you dont need to spend alot on CPU fans. i have a £5 from ebuyer.co.uk and it supports my CPU being overclocked by 1GHz and it still sits at 50c and is pritty quite, just buy a fairly cheap one.

only thing i can see missing is mouse/keyboard etc, but i assume you already have those.

get 64 bit vista (i dont reccomned the home edition though) and put Virtual pc 2007 or Virtualbox on it and have windows 32 bit xp in virtual machine (does not interver with your vista host OS, doesnt not require dual booting) and makes all the games that vista cant run... able to run in the virtual XP, you'd be getting the best of both worlds

get vista home premium, an ati 4870 vid card, and I would go with 32 bit and save some money on 5 gigs less ram.
