Remember that for every number that starts with a zero (eg. 0.012345), all the zeros BEFORE the first non-zero digit are insignificant.

For example 0.012345 has 5 s.f. (the two zeros in front are insignificant)

0.000000001 has only 1 s.f. (all the zeros before '1' are insignificant)

However, 0.10000 has 5 s.f. (the four zeros after '1' are considered significant, but not the first zero)

1.0001 also has 5 s.f. (the zeros are after a non-zero digit)
