You just need to keep the ratios in the same order. The first equation shows the ratio of a to b (a/b) equaling the ratio of 9 to 10 (9/10).
Now if you instead compare the numerators a to 9 (a/9), you should compare the corresponding denominators b to 10 (b/10)
