1. The sum of both digits in a two-digit number is 7. If the number is
less than 11 times the tens digit by 3, find the number.


2. For a three-digit number, the sum of the hundreds digit and units
digit is 12. When these two digits are interchanged, the value of the
number decreases by 594. If the tens digit is 5, find the original
number.

1)Let 10a+b be the number, then:
a+b=7
10a+b+3=11a
so
10a+(7-a)+3=11a

a=5, b=7-5=2
the number is 52

2)Let the number be 100a+50+b
then:
a+b=12
100b+50+a=100a+50+b-594
so
100(12-a)+a=100a+(12-a)-594
99(12-a)-99a=594
12*99-198a=594
a=3 , b=12-3=9
so the number is 359
