Yeah, Toshiro has gained a lot of popularity, since there was a Bleach movie based around him as one of the main characters.

I think it's Hitsugaya Toshiro. He's liked by a lot of people and there's even a Bleach movie about him. WHen it was announced tht the movie tagline was "Execute Hitsugaya", it drew complains and protests from fans that Kubo Tite apologized. I think he just wanted to scare the fans

Just depends on your point of view I guess, most people would say Ichigo, because he is main character and all, but sometimes he leaves something to be desired (don't get me wrong I do like Ichigo, especially when he is in inner hollow form). As far as popularity contests I see Toshiro mentioned a lot, Grimmjow, Ulquiorra I know there are more, but these are mentioned quite frequently!! Most popular character in my opinion is Gin Ichimaru, he intrigues me...

Ichigo from the beginning but I heard Toshiro became 1st, and the female lead making her at least 2nd most popular character in Bleach is Rukia. Well that's what I heard and read about.
