4/k * 3k/16
= (4 * 3k)/(k * 16)
= 12k/16k
= 12/16
= 3/4

43K/K16

first of all, the K's cancel each other out.

43/16

Then, if you want to simplify the fraction to it's simplest number, you divide 16 into 43.

2 11/16

...4.........3k
-------- x --------
...k.........16

multiply 4 by 3k and multiply k by 16.

....12k

first you simplify....
cross out the k in the denominator and k in the numerator.

then 16 is a multiple of 4......
cross out 4 in numerator..... cross out 16 replace with 4

now it looks like 1/1 x 3/4 = 3/4

hope that helped
