Rio De Janeiro or Buenos Aires?

After a lot of thought I've narrowed down my vacation options:

I want to spend a month living like a local in either Buenos Aires, Argentina, or Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

I like extreme sports (windsurfing, scuba, rock climbin, etc), new culture, lots of nightlife, and meeting locals. I am gay but not obvious about it.

I am Mexican... I speak Spanish fluently, so Buenos Aires would be a good option because of this. Also, it's cheaper than Rio. But I don't know if I would get a warm reception in B.A.'s white-only environment. I might fare better off in Rio.

What do y'all think? Any suggestions?

At least I can tell you that nightlife in Buenos Aires is awesome! Rio is great, but you have to go with a group and understand the language. Cariocas (those from Rio) don't usually speak Spanish. although the languages have some similarity. Regarding the white-only government om Argentina, I don't think it affects how people react to you. In fact, it might even be a plus. My gf is dark skinned and she created quite a commotion down there. Overall, if you are a tourist, money talks. The food is also a big plus, especially if you like red meat.

When it comes to extreme sports, Rio beats BA by far. Although I went to Rio during Carnival, I hear that it is quite fun all year round. Just be ready to see a lot more poverty in Rio than in BA. That part was somewhat depressing for me.

I recommend you consider Chile as another choice. It's the land of contrasts, nowhere else can you stand in the world's driest desert (near San Pedro de Atacama), gaze at snowcapped peaks then turn your head to see cool Pacific rollers creaming inland. Santiago and Viña del Mar are beautiful places. Travel is easier and cheaper than Argentina. You can also easily make a trip to the Easter Island.

With its white sandy beaches, leaping mountains and picturesque harbour, it's no surprise that Rio de Janeiro is known as the "cidade maravilhosa", or marvellous city and with hotelbye you can take the opportunity and visit this phenomenal city. Rio de Janeiro is facing the South Atlantic shore and could be the second-largest city in Brazil. That town is fortunate with one of the most wonderful normal options for a town in the world. The spectacular landscape is one among the reasons that visitors decided Rio de Janeiro. All through carnival season, a event that every one seen, the streets load with music and ornately costumed dancers attracting tourists from all around the globe.
