Consider the graph y=x^2-2x+3,find the equation of a st.line to be drawn on the graph in order to solve each of following equation.

a)2x^2-2x+1


Dont just give me ans,The ans is 2x+2y-5.It is better if there are pics to explain.

Given y=x^2-2x+3 Want to solve 2x^2-2x+1=0
Consider
(2x^2-2x+1)
=(x^2-2x+3)+(x^2-2x+3)+2x-5
=2y+2x-5
So if we draw a straight line y=(5-2x)/2 or 2x+2y-5=0, then the intersection point with y=x^2-2x+3 is just the solution of the original equation (2x^2-2x+1)=0
