Travel to Paris

Last year, I travelled to Paris from April 19-23 (6 days 5 night).

1. The weather is varied depending on the area, sunny, cloudy, shower, daytime or night time, etc. The temperature is around 10-20 degree.

2. I prefer www.booking.com and Ibis Hotel (www.ibishotel.com).

www.booking.com with travellers' review, scores, rating, hotel photos, location maps and detailed introduction. The main point is I never find other cheaper price for the same hotel.
The regular price for Ibis is not cheap but they have "Happy 30" early bird promotion. For early bird booking, the cheapest room rate for double room is Euros 39 with 2-3 star quality.

3. We have same preference. I dislike shopping but I love museum and palace. Then I would suggest you to purchase Paris Museum Pass.

Below please find my schedule last year for your reference.

Day 1 : (Attraction don't need to use Museum Pass) (Metro Line M2 & M4) Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre, Place du Tertre, Le Musee de Montmartre (it is private museum, not national), Les Vignes de Montmaretre,
Le Bal du Moulin Rouge, La rue Lepic,La rue Pigalle, Avenues des Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe (just took picture outsides)

Day 2: (Star to use Paris Museum Pass) (Metro Line M7, M1, M2, M6): Musee du Lourve (for half day), Place du Palais-Royal, Jardin des Tuileries, Eglise de la Madeleine, Palace de La Concorde, Arc de Triomphe (Visit Museum Inside), Tour Eiffel (at night if you like, it opens until 9-10pm)

Day 3: Le Chateau de Fontainebleau (from Line M4, change to D) (closed on Tuesday), then you can visit Line M8 area egPlace de la Bastille, Le Marais

Day 4: (Metro Line M4) Le Cathedrale de Notre Dame & Tours, Musee d 'Orsay, Conciergerie, Sainte-Chapelle, IIe de La Cite, Marche aux fleurs et oiseaux, Hotel de Ville, Les Halles

Day 5: Le Chateau de Versailles (M4, change to C5) (closed on Monday) (nearly full day)

I mainly use Museum Pass from Day 2 to Day 5 which is valuable.

To save transporatation cost, then you can:
1. You can buy bulk ticket. Each route costs euro$1.6. but buy 10tickets, just costs euro$11.4. then average each ticket just costs euro$1

I missed one point. If you would like to go Mont St. Michel, then you can conside to purchase 6-days Museum Pass. You can select more castles with museum to go such as Chateau de Ramboulliet http://www.parismuseumpass.com/en/musees_presentation.php?musee_id=59

The weather of Paris in April is quite nice. It will be warm but also cool in the early morning and evening, so you also need a jacket. The sun will not go down so early. Flowers are open. A good season for travelling in Europe.
Please go to www.hotelclub.com. There are many hotel information, you can consider hotels in these areas: "Republique", "Grande Boulevard ", "St. Michel", "Italie", "Montparnasee" etc. A double room in budget hotel will be around 70 - 75 euro.
You can go to Mont St. Michel and Fontainebleau from Paris. It should be an 1 day tour (so totally 2 days). For other museums and spots in Paris, you need another 3 - 4 days. If you want to go to Monaco and Nice, since it's far away from Paris (6 hours in TGV), you need another 2 - 3 days. If you can stay in France longer and don;t mind the high cost of TGV train, you can go there as well... But for a trip of 7 days, I suggest you staying in Paris and its surroundings, it will be much better.
