15^x = 9, Write justification for each step

log15^x=log9

(x)log15=log9

x= log9/log15

Provide the value of x to the nearest ten-thousandth

Provide a reason (other than “that’s the solution”) why your value of x is less than one.

15^x = 9
log(15^x) = log(9)
xlog(15) = log(9)
x = log(9)/log(15)
x = 0.811367742

The reason of the value is less than one because the answer of 15^x is 9, which means 'x' cannot be bigger than one. If 'x' is bigger than one, 15^x is bigger than 15 afterwards.

I continue log 9 = 0.954 log 15=1.176
log 9/log15 =0.954/1.176=0.811
this result is normal . By definition 15^1=15 . So the number x must be lower than1 and also positive since 15^0=1

Of course this is correct.

It is important to note, that any logarithm will work here. Log base 10, log base 15, log base e (or natural log).

you probably did each thing wisely, with the exception of once you subtracted 9-25. the effect could be -sixteen, no longer +sixteen. Your answer could for this reason be: 12x = - sixteen x = - 4/3 From there, you are able to substitute - 4/3 right into a decimal, etc. i'm hoping I helped! :)
