I lived in Canada for over a year...a lot of things are similar. Canada is very americanised-same clothes, food, slang etc...and with so many american shows on tv here you will find that Ireland shares some of that culture too.
But you asked for differences, so...
sense of humour is a bit different. Irish people like to "take the ****" a lot, which basically means making fun of someone - but its not done in a mean way, its just a joke. Some Canadians didnt really get that and would get kind of offended.
I think the work environment in Ireland is more laid back for e.g. - the places i worked in canada had strict dress codes, internet usage was monitored more strictly, and people took their work/career very seriously. In Ireland, a lot of people work to earn a good wage so that they can pay their bills and have enough left to have a good time. Dress codes were not as strict....of course that depends on where you work.
People in Canada have pride in their towns and i never saw anyone littering or not picking up after their dog. Unfortunately, some people over here dont seem to care, so big tip if you come here :watch out for dog sh*t :)
I also noticed canadians like to eat out a lot socially, over in ireland its more typical to go to a pub and drink.
Young teens in canada seem to respect their elders a lot more than some of the kids over here (that makes me seem very old, but im not that old lol)
thats all i can think of right now, but i love canada. If i was to live somewhere else other than ireland, i would choose to live there.
