L.He's much "funnier" [and cuter. But that's not the point. =3] and he seems a lot smarter. Even though Near finally did defeat Light at the end.

He was so cool! Him and Kira was a like in some ways being cute, smart, athletic, and could fight a little. L was just weird and Kira was crazy:)

I like both but L was a much better character than Near. L was cool & funny. Although Near won the Kira case, he was still kind of a brat.

i like L more than Near thats for sure >.<" near kindah freaked me out a bit and found him annoying for some reason =/ and the mind battles between L and Light were pretty nice to watch O.o" and they were pretty much always at each others necks but pretending to be friends and stuff..or were they really friends in L's point of view? >.<" gah i dont know.. but i pick L ^_^
And i like sweets[L] more than small toys [near]

I prefer L - I find him to be much more intelligent than Near and he is just all together better.

L hands down. near just annoys me. no feelings towards mello. Oh yeah, I watched only the movie but i read the manga. I liked the movie. but the manga was good until Light won and near/mello came along.
