Holiday cancellation?

I put a £25 deposit down on a holiday last Saturday but a friendship has fallen through, the leader that arranged the holiday now tells me I don't have a say whether I cancel my placement in this holiday, but surely I must be able to pull out without going through him? It's arranged for next year, what am I going to do? The holiday was booked at a local Thomas Cook travel agents. What further charges will incur?
Thanks
更新1:

I've only paid £25 there is still another £319 outstanding, to be paid through the year, I'll just go to the Travel Agent tomorrow. Is it easy for me to pull out with not being the leader?

Look at the fine print in the contract you signed when you placed your deposit.

The "fine print" is different in the USA than it is in the UK. So, for specifics read your fine print.

Depending on the contract you may be able to receive your deposit back.

Get in touch with every one you booked with explain how you want to pull out. you will get a letter or email confirming this and it may come with a cheque or come with something telling you how to get your money back you have a yea do it sooner rather than later though! If all else fails to cancel how about you give me the ticket ;)
