doesn't Edward change Bella into a vampire a the end of twilight?

I thought that in the end of Twilight Edward changes Bella into a vampire as the last few lines said 'And he leaned down to press his cold lips once more to my throat.'..so doesn't he bite Bella as in the New Moon Bella is a human..........???????????????

She becomes a vampire in Breaking Dawn. God.

That was a joke in New Moon he played on her.

No he didnt. Alot of people thought that at the end of the book when he kissed her neck he turned her into a vampire but no he didnt he just kissed her. And after twilight there are still two other books andhe still hasnt turned her into a vampire yet - he wants her too have a normal life.

ya he does but it was only for her to live. While she was giving birth, the vampire baby was gonna kill her so he made her a vampire so she could live.

Yes, but at the end of Breaking Dawn. When Bella is giving birth, the baby nearly kills her, so Edward turns her into a vampire so she will be immortal.
