me and my boyfriend are driving to ny for the first time in a few days.
we live in orlando florida and are planning on making this trip.
he has never driven in ice or snow before and he has only been driving two years.
any advice or anything we should know before we leave?

the only thing we're really worried about it the driving in snow. i recently bought new tires for the car, but i heard we need snow tired. should we invest in these even if we already bought brand new tires?

first time i drove to newyork i ended up getting a ticket for speeding on the highway. s definitely don't do that. and be really careful when you get to newyork cuz there are crazy drivers up there and they are not at all going to be easy going.. especially for those who are not used to the fast paced cars up there. don't be afraid to cut someone off.. they will continually do it to you.

pack some food so you don't have to stop a billion times and waste alot of money along the way

other than that.. have fun<3

The highways should be clear. Even if it's actually sowing, many times it melts on the highway. In the city - it's usually slush and water on the roads.

driving in ice/sno is scary as hell.
especially if you have abs becuase your brakes make a crunching noise we u start to slide on snow or ice.

but just drive slow in bad areas and you'll be fine.

Just take your time. When the roads are icy or are snow covered stay off the gas and DON'T brake hard!! The gas and brake can make you spin out easier than hitting ice.

It's a long ride. Bring lots of things to do. Me and my family (when we lived in NY) drove down to Florida once and it was a long, tiring trip.
And I live in PA now and we're constantly driving on snow and ice and nothing has happened to our tires yet. So I don't think you need to worry about anything happening to your tires. Maybe just bring a spare tire or something just in case. (Which anyone should do on any car trip anyway)
Hope this helped!!

You actually have nothing to worry about as that forecast for the next couple of days is supposed to be above 32, which is the temp of which things start to get messy.

But seriously if your thinking about driving in Manhattan, dont, thats more stressful than driving in snow.
