Better team in the Rivalry?

The Bo SOX hell yes they are better. The Yankees haven't had true lineup that actually will play together since the early 2000's.The Sox have had a lineup that is cohesive forever now.They have the better over all team because of the fact THEY know how to play together

Now or historically?

Now it would be the RED SOX better management all the way up to the owner better farm system, better team, we can actually hit in the playoffs!

Historically it would be the NEW YORK YANKEES, it's hard to argue with 26 titles and the men that used to wear the pin stripes, back when it still meant something. Yankees fans still think it does but it doesn't.

The Yanks will come in third in the AL WEST again

YANKEES SUCK.....they've become the wh0res of MLB...yankees can't run a team so they have to buy one...how much money have they wasted this decade with nothing to show...they are chumps!!! my sister could win with that payroll but cashman and steindoucher haven't in forever

Red Sox. The Red Sox have the best pitching no doubt: starting, and bullpen. The Yanks' pitching is good, but they've only got 2/3 good starters, and no bullpen. As of offense, it's about tied: they've each got 2 excellent offensive players: teix/arod, ortiz/bay.

How it will effect the rivalry: It will increase in ways, and decrease in ways. It will increase in competition. Since they both got really good players, they will both want to prove who the better team is. It will decrease, because there are more new players, who don't care about the other team, just like someone on the dodgers, for example, won't have anything against the red sox/ yankees.

well of late it's been the red sox....before it used to be the yankees.

the red sox have made the playoffs the last couple years, the yankees haven't, the red sox had the pitching, the yankees didn't...

but this year will definetly be a good year for that rivalry...due to the fact the yankees have picked up a big bat and now have a solid pitching core....the team that steps up will be the team that wins this rivalry....we'll just have to find out...
