According to the Mid-point theorem:(1) AB = CB, which means:
** B is the mid-point of AC.
(2) BE // CD
Therefore, we can state that E is the mid-point of AD, which means:
** AE / AD = 1/2
x/14 = 1/2
x = 7
** x = y
y = 7
