AUDI AG, (Xetra: NSU) is a German car manufacturer which produces cars under the Audi brand, (pronounced /aˈʊdi/). The name Audi is based on a latin translation of the word "Horch", itself the German word for “hark." Another explanation for the origin of the name is as an acronym for “Auto Union Deutschland Ingolstadt."

1899年August Horch創立A Horch汽車公司，後來與合夥人意見不合另外又創立August Horch汽車公司，但因公司名稱雷同被控告，所以改用Horch(德文聽覺的意思)的拉丁文Audi為公司名稱。
