What would happen if a plant were exposed to a non breathable atmosphere?

only briefly and not in a harmful atmosphere like sulfur. Kinda like would a plant survive with out air but last time I ashed this it turns out without air things are either extremely cold or immensely hot...

All the plant needs is carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, and it would be all set. Without any air at all, the plant would die from lack of this compound, for it is what the plant uses to form glucose, and, consequently, energy to carry on with its life.

Plants require carbon dioxide, but not oxygen, so as long as temperature doesn't kill it and there is water, sunlight, and CO2, it should do fine.

depends on what the non breathable atmosphere is. but as you say if it inst harmful than it should do perfectly fine as long as their is CO2.

at the beginning of earths history there was no O2 in the atmosphere and it was only because plants produced O2 as a byproduct that we now have O2 in our atmosphere.

Planting should have carbon dioxide.
