I know the anime ended (rather abruptly) but the last I checked, the manga was still going.

no, they plan to make new anime episodes this fall... but the manga ended, ya.

yep, the manga ended and there was also an OVA that came out after the manga was completed. the manga has 56 volumes and 558 chapters.
