begin with the equation d=1/2(gt^2), show that the distance traveled between t1=0.05n and t2=0.05(n+1)
seconds, where n is a non-negative integer, is

At time = t1, the distance traveled, d1 = 1/2 g(0.05n)2

At time = t2, the distance traveled, d2 = 1/2 g[0.05(n + 1)]2

So, the distance traveled between t1 = 0.05n and t2 = 0.05(n + 1), d

= d2 - d1

= 1/2 g[0.05(n + 1)]2 - 1/2 g(0.05n)2

= 1/2 g(0.05)2 [(n2 + 2n + 1) - n2]

= 1/2 g(0.05)2 (2n + 1)

= 1/2 g(2n)(0.05)2 + 1/2 g(0.05)2

= gn(0.05)2 + (0.05)2 g/2
