As a whole? That's easy!
1. Most hominids since the Acheulean have used fire, and that began 1.7 million years ago! By definition, every single human group ever has controlled fire, since fire was discovered before humans existed.
2. There were no wheels in the Americas before 1492 (except maybe as kid's toys). Despite this lack, the people managed just fine to move long distances and construct monumental architecture.
3. Although today pretty much everyone eats food from domesticated sources, this was not the case as little as 12,000 years ago. That seems like a long time, but not when you consider that humans have been around for something like 150,000 years! So we've only been eating domesticated food for 10% of our history (and not everyone eats domesticated food even now).
For all humans everywhere, fire was the best. There is even some evidence to suggest that the use of fire led to the initial stages of plant domestication, by clearing away brush allowing for wild cereals to grow. Kind of like modern slash-and-burn agriculture.
