Dissociation is the separation of ionic cps or bigger molecules into ions. This process only involves part of the cps ionizes. However a cps ionizes meaning 100% separates into anions & cations. Like hydrochloric acid is 100% ionizing in water but acetic acid is partially ionizing in water, we can call acetic acid dissociates in water.
