Life Decisions - Please Help!?

I'm currently training to be a vet nurse, I am low paid and have low job satisfaction, I know it isn't what I want to do but with the current recession what are the chances that I will actually get another job? Ideally I would like to go to uni and study sociology - but will that get me anywhere either? Should I just go for it? Or stick at my job? What do you reckon?

Not sure how old you are, and I agree it's very difficult these days to know what tomorrow will bring. However, if you don't like what you are doing and can get assistance with a place at uni, then go for it. Not sure about the sociological direction, though. If it's of any help, I've had numerous - and very varied - jobs in my life, from lighthouse keeper to cinema manager; I have enjoyed almost every minute of it. Do what YOU want, my friend. Believe in yourself. I look forward to reading your autobiography.

It seems to me that you should keep your current job until you know exactly what your future goal will be.

Look into sociology but actually visit some social working deptartments near you. A job's "concept" and the day-to-day tasks of the ACTUAL job can be strikingly different. Look into some other careers that really appeal to you and do the same job survey.

Once you decided on a career THEN look into whether your current job is the best fit for your schooling requirements- good luck!

lady death above would be acceptable. Your question has no spelling blunders, yet without notice the assertion has ridiculous ones that are actually not considered everywhere, even in customary colleges. With the point of spelling you have, that's impossible to be standard in significant and nicely-paid jobs because of the fact the air stress. the 2nd you return to a call as we talk to make a real attempt to improve your English or to be undemanding, the greater advantageous would be your possibilities to be standard to a school to be gainfully employed. it is my friendly and frank suggestion to you. and that i wish you success and hardship-unfastened adventures! :-))

Always do what you like whenever possible and harmless to you and the others. If you think that the total outcome (benefit) will eventually be greater than the total cost (time and money spent for studying), then just do it. Treasure your time and the chance.

I absolutely loved Sociology at college but realistically decided that studying it at university really wouldn't get me anywhere, except teaching and i would hate that job. But maybe take a class in a college in it, or something through open university, i think leaving a job with security at the moment would be a silly thing.

sociology is a waste of time and money.

Go for it if you think it'll make you happy.
If you're low on money, why no work and study part-time? You might take longer to graduate but it'lll still mean you'll get money to support you whilst you study.

I assume you are still relatively young. In which case you have around 45 years of work ahead of you. Can you stick your job that long? If not and you can afford it why not give university a go. Check out whether there are courses that do sociology along with other subjects that might make you more employable in the end. good luck

do whatever makes you happy.go to uni and you may find a job related to sociology once you get out, plus the recession may be over by then.
