No, he can't. Only China can solve it. All he can do is put pressure on China to solve it...

Obama can surely draw attention to these issues but it's China which has to address the problem.

No one but China has to solve these problems. Others can only urge them to do that.

Those saying Obama won't be dealing at all with China are crazy. The world is too interconnected to avoid China, and America's financial problems are also the world's financial problems, so it's not completely internal. He WILL deal with China. He MUST. It would not be at all surprising if his first trip abroad was to China.

As far as dealing with China's human rights issues and Tibet, he has no authority to change China in these areas. He can bring up the issue, and he can certainly condemn human rights abuses, but beyond that, he's not going to send troops to Tibet. That'd be absolutely crazy! He'll deal with China mostly for economic purposes. Anyways, with industrialization comes human rights abuses. It happened in Europe, then America, the Japan, and now China is going through it. If it's successful, typically human rights issues can then be dealt with and much of them can be eliminated, but this is all up to the Chinese government, not the U.S. government.

Obama should sort out US's internal problems first.

You don't know why Chinese deny the truth while they are suppressed?
It's simple, because they don't feel that they are suppressed. Their life style or government are different from yours doesn't mean theirs must be worse.Live and let live.
Shouldn't Obama's first priority be solving the domestic issues? Americans do love the role of world police~

I think Obama will be busy fixing the problems in US first - ie. econonmy. troops in Middle East, etc. If Obama's first priority is to solve the human rights problem in China or Tibet issue, then he's doing exactly the same thing - suppressing the US people.

ok, about the f-ing Tibet issue, I'm sorry but Tibet is part of China and all those protesters are talking from their asses.

as for the human rights issue, I hope Obama can establish good relations with China regardless of Bush, but it is up to China to decide on it's own.

i'm slightly puzzled by potential of your question. at the start, Obama isn't president. Secondly, the U. S. President isn't the President/chief in China. explanation why a president right here interior the U. S. is talked approximately as the President of the U. S., its on account that person is the chief of the U. S..

why teh fcuk would obama do about human rights issue in china. it's not his country. bush did OKAY with its relation with china, he remained mostly neutral with them. But Obama sometime ago (not sure when) said he was gonna bomb Pakistan, which is one of China's best ally. He really think he really can do that? Obama better not be stupid as the ape some people say he is.
