I'm worried about getting my tongue pierced but I really want it done!?!?

Tongue rings look trashy and slutty. Not to mention, Also they look like ****.

my sister got hers done and for nearly a week she couldn't ...eat, drink or talk properly!
it was because her tongue had swollen to the shape and size of her mouth.
if you don't mind going throw that (and that is best case) then go ahead.

Getting your tongue pierced would not harm plenty in any respect...that's the therapeutic technique it particularly isn't any relaxing. Your tongue is going to swell, so consume soups, ice cream, mashed potatoes...something that would not particularly require you to bite. No ingesting with the aid of a straw and be sure you employ mouth wash plenty. keep it clean and you ought to heal quickly. i've got had my tongue pierced two times. If it ever closed up returned I wouldnt be afraid to have it pierced returned...that's no longer that undesirable.

I got my tongue pierced when i was younger. I just got a mad idea and did it without even thinking about it. It didnt hurt and I didnt feel any pain. Afterwards my tongue swelled up and I had a lisp for a few days and could only eat soup. It was fine after a few days and I loved it. I grew up and took it out and the hole closed up very fast. Im just glad I got a piercing and not a tatoo! If you dont like it or get sick of it you cn just take it out. I didnt even consider the dangers when I got it done. If you are getting it done go somewhere reputable and be sure to take any tablets ot mouthwash given. Good luck!

It can be, but it really depends on your tongue- sounds stupid but if you to go a very highly trusted piercing place, they will be able to tell you..

Bascially there is a nerve ending in everyones tongue, and it can be located on different areas in each person.... If this nerve ending runs through the bottom part, where you want the piercing there is a chance it can be dangerous and any good trusted piercer will refuse...

I had a friend who went to any old place, and they pierced her nerve ending, it wasn't nice at all because now she has problems with her speech and jaw movement, she's lucky it didn't paralyze her..

As I said, this isn't the case with everyone so just make sure you get a few piercers opinions first, good luck ;)

Yeah if your already getting braces I would not get it done. Tongue rings have a habit of ruining teeth because people play with them and it scrapes all the enamel off your teeth. You should really talk to your orthodontist about that though. Plus its really just not as attractive as you think.

I'm a piercer, and you have little to worry about if you're responsible.

Piercing become infected by people not taking care of them correctly. Make sure BEFORE you get the piercing you know how to take care of it, also pay attention when the piercer is explaining the aftercare to you. Ask questions and be informed.

I also have my tongue piercer, twice. It healed very quickly, within a week is was no longer sore or swollen. In about two-three weeks I was able to take it out for hours and it was fine.
All piercings come with risks, getting your tongue pierced is no different than the rest of your body.

ALSO - It's good to use acrylic balls. Metal balls will scrap your teeth and cause harm to them, the acrylic is less harsh inside your mouth. Most piercers like a person to start with metal balls because acrylic balls have pores, they hold in bacteria. Just make sure when you brush your teeth you brush gently around the balls and you'll be fine.

It should be just fine! Don't worry, just take care of your piercing and be responsible with it. AND, the tongue hurts less than most piercings as well. Being a muscle, the tongue has little nerves in it, so it's a little poke and you're done! Definitely for a first piercing this one would be great!

I don't think you should at the moment. Get your braces first, after they're off, then you should.

Braces will not help and it may irritate you. Did you watch Arthur? When Emily got her EARS pierced, they turned green :O lol not trying to scare you. Go ahead and get it pierced. But you may soung funny after.
