Where can I find the spices to make pho?

I really love beef pho and I want to try and make it. I have tried several things already but they were all wrong probably cause Im using the wrong ingredients.
So here's my question:
What spices do I need and where can I get them?
I have went to some sites and seen some of them, but they are all included in a bag that you can buy, but I have yet to find it in my asian supermarket. Is there a name for that bag of spices, and where can I find it?
Also, if you want to know, I go shopping at the Kamman foods store in East hannover NJ

Here's a recipe that needs only fresh ginger, star anise and "Holy basil" as the 'spices';

Unless you want to make it the traditional way, with bones and whatnot, its easy. You probably dont need to go to an Asian market. You will need Star Anise. Some regular grocery stores sell them. Theyre literally the shape of stars. If you cant get star anise you can use anise seeds. Thats what is used to give the broth its aroma and flavor. You can also use a cinnamon stick in addition, or cloves.
Youll need basil, bean sprouts, cilantro, and scallion, and lime, all which you can get at the grocery store. If you want spicy, get some jalapeno or chili pepper. For the beef, you'll need flank steak. Freeze it partially and then slice it against the grain..by partially freezing it youll be able to slice it easily into thin slices. You might be able to get rice noodles in the Asian section of the grocery store.

no extra desirable than a teaspoon, i purchase Pho inventory cubes and use them alongside with the crimson meat and poultry inventory I prepare dinner the meats in, I do 2-3 poultry legs, a million reliable length short rib, the two a crimson meat hock or crimson meat riblets, i like tripe so if i will detect a small equipment and upload a carrot, onion, green onion tops, sliced ginger and a few total split garlic cloves, as each and each meat is comprehensive I do away with it, as a results of fact the poultry and crimson meat are many times finished earlier the crimson meat

My mom usually makes it with the beef broth or cooks meats/bones to make the broth and adds the usual ingredients when serving. My parents have an oriental food store and we sell these seasoning cubes that make it so much easier to cook. Since I moved away for college and wanted to have some she suggested using the cubes. I have and it was quite delicious. There's a local oriental grocery store where I live so I was able to get everything there. But I found a them online. You should try them out. There's also a chicken and vegetarian flavor as well. I think I had a hard time deciphering the instructions but I guess you could figure it out. There's four cubes in a box and I ended up making a small pot (4-6 bowls) with it. I didn't add any other seasoning to the broth, but I did have some beef and bone, well cow tail, cooking in there for a while, not that that was completely necessary, delicious though.

Don't forget you'll also need: rice noodles, hoisin sauce, Sriracha Chili Sauce, bean sprouts, basil, lime, beef and/or beef balls.

Have fun.

If you're talking about the broth used in pho noodles, they don't use a lot of spices to make the broth, but rather they use beef/pork/chicken meat and bones and boil it for a long time.

In your local yellow pages you should be able to find a specialty store that carry Asian spices. Try your local chinatown too, If that fails you can order them online. You are more likely not going to find all ingredients as listed but i'm sure you would not have a problem finding a good substitute. good luck.
