What country does Chinese food come from?

Chinese food comes from your mind. It exists only because you exist. If you stopping thinking about Chinese food, then it disappears. When you dream about Chinese foods, are those really Chinese foods or are those your imagination? When you awake and eat Chinese foods, are those any more real? Or is it possible that you are really a butterfly and you are dreaming yourself to be a human? At the end, Chinese food is just your imagination.

An alternatively definition: when a Chinese eat a "food", the food becomes Chinese food. If a Chinese eats an apple, the apple turns into a Chinese food.

Authentic Chinese food comes from China. The beef and broccoli and sweet and sour pork that you order from the takeout restaurant came from Chinese guy who come to US long time ago and had problems finding bak choy and black bean paste here. He also need to find a way to make more money (from the Americans), so he took their vegetables and made it the Chinese way and called it the Chinese food you now find on that takeout menu. Oh yah, he threw in that little fortune cookie so you'd think it's cute.

typical chinese food that you find in the states is really a hybrid of many asian styles of foods. Authentic Chinese recipes can come from China, Taiwan (a republic of China), Yunnan Province, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia, and Vietnam.

China has different provinces and so Chinese food will differ slightly, depending on what province it comes from.

I have had Chinese food in America, England, Australia, New Zealand and China.

America, England, Australia and New Zealand all had Western bastardised versions.

Chinese food in China has to be eaten to be believed, hardly resembles the Western version.
