Born in Hanoi, Le Hoai Nam was taught the violin initially by his father at the age of five before being accepted to Hanoi National Conservatory of Music at age of seven and later on in Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, to study under Professor Michael Ma. He has appeared as soloist with the Vietnam National Opera Ballet Orchestra, Hanoi Strings Chamber Orchestra, and Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts Symphony Orchestra. As an orchestra player, he was concert master of Asian Youth Orchestra, HKAPA Symphony Orchestra which toured United Stated, Europe and Asia, under Sergiu Comissiona and Christoph Campestrini. He was invited to lead the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra in 2005. He also appears frequently as a chamber musician and recitalist in Hong Kong and Hanoi. As a recipient of Ruggiero Ricci Award, he was selected to perform in the Government House of Hong Kong in 2001. He has been a member of Hong Kong Sinfonietta since July 2006 and currently serving as Acting Principal Second Violin.
