Interesting Science Question

A piece of quilt keeps you warm because of the air trapped inside it. Since air is a bad conductor of heat, heat produced by your own body cannot be escaped out and this gives you a warm feeling.
Squeezing a quilt would force out most of the air from the quilt. This loses the insulating medium and hence couldn't keep heat from losing from your body.
