This is an instruction you gave to other party e.g. bank, debtor, creditor etc. requiring the other party to do a specific performance in future and may not require you to give a new order again on the same matter. For example, you place a standing purchase order to a supplier requiring him to deliver you some goods on a, say, monthly basis.
Unless the performance had been done by the other party, there is no need to record such transactions in the books of the company as the transaction is only effective upon it to be completed. However, there should be a memorandum record on this matter to trace for the performance.
