Hi!
Well right now i'm in 8th grade and next year i was figuring on trying out for the girls water polo team at my school. I love the water and it looked like fun. I just started doing a program at my local gym that teaches you how to play. Does anyone have any specific advice or heads up for us beginners, also are there any site that can give you a some tips well thank you! for your answers!

Hey, I play water polo :o, and maybe I can come up with some tips. It always helps if you can swim, and since you are already going somewhere that teaches you, you'll be fine, it takes a lot of experience to get good. You should try to start building strong legs, because in water polo you've probably heard that you have to tread in the water for a long time.
They will teach you this stroke called egg beater, it's probably gonna be confusing at first but you'll get use to it.
Then you'll be learning about swimming with your head out of the water, how to catch the ball with one hand in the water and to throw the ball. If you want you can practice throwing a big maybe basketball if you can, like you pitch a softball, because that's how you pass and shoot a water polo ball.

good luck & fun, water polo is the besttt :D

join a club! its the best way they teach you everything! in my opinion you learn by getting out there and doing it rather than reading a book or something. thats how i learned. of course you'll get yelled at by your team but thats how you learn. trust me ive only been playing for 2 years and im going on my 3rd i made the jr national team last year. you will get better with practice and experience.
