What is the best restaurant to propose marriage?

I am proposing to my girlfriend in Vancouver and want to give her that "perfect moment" but also I need to impress her father who I got off to a rough start with. Any help would be a lifesaver.

By the way Jeff did Tina believe that you weren't going to Canada with me and you know who?

The Observatory Restaurant on top of Grouse Mountain. You can propose to her at the restaurant or during the ride up the mountain, or you can even go for a sleigh ride after dinner, etc.

How about the Grouse Nest on Grouse Mountain? It's classy with a wonderfully romantic view - and the tram ride up the mountain will give you a great opportunity to pop the question - you'll not only have a captive audience and be local celebrities by the time you disembark, but you also won't be fretting anymore and can enjoy your dinner together without the stress of worrying about the proper moment to propose.
As for the tram ride, try something like this: When you are about 1/2 way up the mountain, announce loudly: "Ladies and gentlemen, I know you are enjoying the beatiful view but I would like to distract you temporarily to bring your attention to something which I think is WAY more beautiful: this lady whom I love, and would like to spend the rest of my life with." (Take her hand, get on one knee and propose from your heart) Leave the father in law out of the entire equation - you can resolve your differences later - this night is about the 2 of you.

i have worked in restaurants my whole life...there is nothing more tacky(and humiliating to the woman)then a staged proposal in a restaurant...i might suggest climbing together to the top of some near-by mountain and then proposing there.this would show your potential life partner that life is hard but if you work together you can climb any mountain.

ps. are you marrying her father?why do you need to impress him?sounds like you may need to resolve something there.

good luck and god-speed.

I would be mortified if was proposed to in a restaurant. A proposal should just be between the two of you and once she says yes feel free to tell the world! I'm sure she would prefer a more romantic proposal with just the pair of you, maybe on the beach at sunset :).

Well maybe you could win your father in law over with a well planned out trip to brokeback mountin.

How about Olive Garden?

OK, I'll be honest, I don't think proposal in a restaurant is very exciting.

What do you like to do on the weekends?

Is there anything you two like to do together? How about proposing there?

Do you go to sporting events a lot? Get the announcer involved, they'll love it.

Is there a stretch of road you always drive past on your way to your favorite weekend hotspot? Do you always stop at that same McDonald's for a quick bite on the way? Have them do the changing message sign for "Becky, will you marry me?" for a day. They'll probably do it for nothing, or at least almost nothing. Pull into the lot and propose, you had nothing to do with it, but it must be a sign from God, or was that Greg, the manager? This would also work fine for anyone else on the side of the road with a sign, a bar, a gas station etc. As long as the road has some sort of meaning to it, it'll be fun. Even if it's cheesy she'll be impressed you went through the trouble.

Favorite zoo? Talk to them and ask about special behind the scenes stuff. If they don't normally have anything like that, tell them your plan. They might have something behind the scenes for something special like proposing that they wouldn't normally allow. Go pet the penguins and while you're already on one knee, whip out the ring.

I proposed on the lift hill to our favorite roller coaster in Orlando. The answer was, "Oh my God! Yes! Now put that away!!!"

Give her a story to tell. In the glass of champaign is lame and completely passe. Put a little thought into it and have fun with it. The preparation should probably be more than "Two at 7:30 please." This is the first step to a life time. Make it a good first step.

burger king... but if your looking for something fancy go to taco bell lol

just kidding... go to a fancy restaurant that is quiet and romantic but don't let her think its all Special. say its just a regular date and then surprise her... good luck with that

I know this isn't the kind of suggestion you're looking for, but there was an article just this week where a couple got married at Taco Bell. The ceremony cost about $200.
