They usually carries no production cost.
eg. oxygen in the atmosphere, scence, sunshine

稀少性並不適用於免費物品，因為無論在任何情況下，該物品的供給量，均會大於需求量。沒有人願意付出成本來獲得免費物品。在大草原中的新鮮空氣，在大海中的海水就是免費物品的例子。

A free-of-charge good is not necessarily a free good. For example, a shop might give away its stock in its promotion, but producing these goods would still have required the use of scarce resources, so this would not be a free good in an economic sense.

價錢是$0的物品未必係免費物品。例如一間鋪頭送貨促銷，但製造呢件貨ge資源是缺乏的，所以在經濟上佢唔算free good.

注: 天然廢棄物唔算free good, 因為根本無人想要。

What is a free good?

n It is a good that is not scarce. (That is, the quantity demanded for a good is not greater than quantity supplied at zero price.)

n It is anything that people do not prefer to have more of them even if its price is zero.

n A free good can alternative uses. A free good can satisfy all our wants of it for all different uses, so no alternatives are given up even though some of it is used in one way and some in others.

n No one will pay for a free good because the amount available is so abundant that everyone’s wants for it is satisfied.

n There is no scarcity problem for free goods.

n There is no such thing as free lunch

l A free-of-charge good need not be a free good even though both of them have no money price.

l Example: Public library is provided free of charge in Hong Kong, but this does not mean that it is a free good. Though the money price is zero, we have in fact to pay a cost for it as scarce resources are diverted from other uses to provide free public library.
