You have a difference of squares:
(5m)² - 4² = 0

Factor using this rule --> a² - b² = (a - b)(a + b)

(5m - 4)(5m + 4) = 0

Answer:
m = 4/5
or
m = -4/5

a^2 - b^2 = (a + b)(a - b)

25m^2 - 16 = 0
(5m)^2 - 4^2 = 0
(5m + 4)(5m - 4) = 0

5m + 4 = 0
5m = -4
m = -4/5 (-0.8)

5m - 4 = 0
5m = 4
m = 4/5 (0.8)

∴ m = ±4/5 (±0.8)

25m^2=16
take sqrt of both sides
5m=4
m=4/5 and -4/5

This is the difference of two squares. That is,

25m^2 - 16 =

(5m)^2 - (4)^2 =

(5m + 4)(5m - 4) = 0

That is, either factor (5m + 4) = 0, or (5m - 4) = 0.

So, 5m = -4, or 5m = 4. Therefore,

m = -4/5, or m = 4/5

25m^2=16
25m=Square root 16..4
m=4/25
2009-01-14 7:15 am
25m^2 -16 = 0
25 m^2 = 16
m^2 = 16/25
m = 4/5 or m = -4/5

25 m^2 -16 = 0

25 m^2 = 16
m ^2 = 16/25
m = sqrt ( 16/25) = 4 /5

you rewrite as
25m^2=16 or m^2=16/25
you take the root

2 solutions m=-4/5 m=4/5
