Will potpourri burn if placed in the microwave?

I am wanting to make a little bag of something that smells kinda
good and can be heated in the microwave to end up with a sort
of hot pad (to use like a hot water bottle to warm my feet or body
when I first go to bed.). I'm wondering if potpourri would get hot
enough to burn or catch on fire. (no silly answers please).

Yes, I just did this and you will not believe how badly it smells, and for a very long time...it is horrible.

No. It's already dried, it'll just continue to shrivel up. Think of it like a noddle that falls off of a plate and gets stuck in the back of the microwave. The only things that will cause a fire in a microwave are made of metal. Microwaves don't actually heat food, they literally shoot microwaves into the box, that cause the molecules to move around, causing friction, thus heat. So yeah it won't ketch fire, but I don't know how well it will work.

Ok. We have a hotplate that people put hot pans/dishes on. It is filled with some sort of pellet, I believe they are dried peas, lentils, or beans. There is also potpourri in it, because it smells good when gently heated by the hot food dish.

But yes, when it is put in a microwave by itself, it will catch fire after a while.
